How can we encourage students to think ambitiously while remaining grounded in real-world policy challenges? In this interactive workshop, students take on the role of an expert group tasked with designing Sweden’s most significant public governance reform. Working in groups, they will assess which levels—municipal, regional, national, or European—should oversee ten key societal functions, such as healthcare, education, and environmental protection. Students will need to reassign at least four of these functions to different governance levels than they currently occupy, offering well-reasoned arguments based on democracy, equality, and economic considerations.
